Yamunotri

Yamunotri is the origin of the River Yamuna and is located in the western region of the Garhwal Himalayas, also in Uttarkashi district. The Yamunotri Temple, situated at 3,293 meters, is dedicated to Goddess Yamuna. The temple can be reached by a scenic 6 km trek from Janki Chatti. Nearby thermal springs like Surya Kund attract visitors who cook rice tied in cloth as offerings.
